Shell is a city located on the western edge of the Ecuadorian Amazon and in the eastern foothills of the Andes. It is located about 94 miles southeast of Quito, and roughly 4 miles west of the provincial capital, Puyo. Shell is situated 6 km northwest of Amazonas.

Puyo, also known as El Puyo, is a city in the Amazon region of Ecuador. It is often overshadowed by the nearby tourist magnet of Baños, but serves as an excellent base for trips to community-based tourism projects and jungle excursions.
