Babbs Island is an island in Hancock County, West Virginia on the Ohio River between East Liverpool, Ohio and Chester, West Virginia. It takes its name from the Babb family of Columbiana County, Ohio which once owned the island from 1804 to 1820—John Babb was the original owner.

Little Blue Run Lake or Little Blue Run is the largest coal ash impound in the United States. Ohio-based FirstEnergy owns the site, located in Western Pennsylvania and parts of the Northern Panhandle of West Virginia, and has disposed of billions of gallons of coal waste into the body of water. Little Blue Run is situated 2 miles southeast of Glendale.
