It is the highest point on the Kitsap Peninsula and the highest point in Kitsap County, Washington, and nearby 1,639-foot Green Mountain is the second-highest point. Gold Mountain is situated 2 miles northeast of Mission Lake.

It is the second highest point on the Kitsap Peninsula and in Kitsap County, Washington, after 1,761-foot Gold Mountain. Green Mountain is situated 2½ miles northeast of Mission Lake.

Casad Dam is a concrete arch dam in Bremerton, Kitsap County, Washington), built starting in 1955 and completed in 1957. The dam is Kitsap County's only major water diversion structure, impounding Union River to form a reservoir that is the source of over half of Bremerton's municipal water supply. Casad Dam is situated 2 miles east of Mission Lake.
