Puʻukoholā Heiau National Historic Site is a United States National Historic Site located on the northwestern coast of the island of Hawaiʻi. The site preserves the National Historic Landmark ruins of the last major Ancient Hawaiian temple, and other historic sites. Puʻukoholā Heiau National Historic Site is situated 1½ miles north of Kaunaoa Beach.

Kawaihae is an unincorporated community on the west side of the island of Hawaiʻi in the U.S. state of Hawaiʻi, 35 miles north of Kailua-Kona. Its harbor is one of only three on the island, together with that of Hilo and Honokohau Harbor. Kawaihae is situated 2½ miles north of Kaunaoa Beach.

Puakō is a census-designated place in Hawaiʻi County, Hawaii, United States. The population was 772 at the 2010 census, up from 429 at the 2000 census. The epicenter of the 2006 Kiholo Bay earthquake was some 6 miles offshore of the village. Puako is situated 2½ miles south of Kaunaoa Beach.
