Nizza Monferrato is an arcaded market town of about 10,000 people in the province of Asti, in the Monferrato wine hills of Piedmont, Italy. It is the capital of the Nizza DOCG, the most ambitious expression of the Barbera grape, and a good, unpretentious base for exploring the surrounding vineyards.
