The Grieshorn is a mountain of the Lepontine Alps, located on the Swiss-Italian border. With an altitude of 2,969 metres above sea level, it is the culminating point of the group lying between the Gries Pass, the San Giacomo Pass and the Nufenen Pass.

Nufenen Pass is the second highest mountain pass with a paved road in Switzerland, with an elevation of 2,478 metres. It lies between the summits of Pizzo Gallina and the Nufenenstock. The road opened to motor vehicle traffic in September 1969. Nufenen Pass is situated 3 km northwest of Punta di Elgio.
