Khan el-Khalili is a famous bazaar in the of , . Established as a center of trade in the Mamluk era and named for one of its several historic caravanserais, the bazaar district has since become one of Cairo's main attractions for tourists and Egyptians alike.

, known in Egypt simply as al-Azhar, is a in the of the city of , Egypt. Commissioned as the new capital of the Fatimid Caliphate in 970 CE, it was the first mosque established in a city that eventually earned the nickname "the City of a Thousand Minarets". is situated 210 metres south of Khan el-Khalili.

The al-Hussein Mosque is a and mausoleum, located near the Khan el-Khalili bazaar in , . Containing the tomb of Husayn ibn Ali that was originally built in 1154, the mosque and mausoleum were reconstructed in 1874. is situated 110 metres east of Khan el-Khalili.

The Wikala of Sultan Qansuh al-Ghuri is a caravanserai in . It was built in 1504–1505 and is considered today one of the most impressive and best-preserved examples of this type of building in Cairo. is situated 240 metres southwest of Khan el-Khalili.
