Isle of Grain

Grain Fort

Grain Fort is a former artillery fort located just east of the village of Grain, Kent. It was constructed in the 1860s to defend the confluence of the Rivers Medway and Thames during a period of tension with France.

Medway Power Station is a 735 megawatts gas-fired combined cycle gas turbine power station on the Isle of Grain in Kent adjacent to the River Medway, about 44 miles east of London. It started to supply electricity to the national grid in 1995.
