Thornewood is an English Gothic estate in what is now Lakewood, Washington. It consists of three buildings, including Thornewood Castle, which was built from the brick of a dismantled 15th-century house imported from England. Thornewood is situated 2½ miles east of North Fort Lewis.

Fort Lewis is a United States Army base located 9.1 miles south-southwest of Tacoma, Washington. Fort Lewis was merged with McChord Air Force Base on February 1, 2010, to form Joint Base Lewis–McChord. Fort Lewis is situated 2½ miles southeast of North Fort Lewis.

DuPont is a city in Pierce County, Washington, United States. The population was 10,151 at the 2020 census. Originally a company town, the city is named after the DuPont chemical company which operated an explosives manufacturing plant in the area from 1909 to 1975. DuPont is situated 2½ miles southwest of North Fort Lewis.
