Paranur railway station is one of the railway stations of the Chennai Beach–Chengalpattu section of the Chennai Suburban Railway Network. It is situated at a distance of 55 km south of Chennai Beach terminus and has an elevation of 42 m above sea level. Paranur railway station is situated 1¼ km north of Paranur station.

It is a railway junction of the southern section of the Chennai Suburban Railway Network situated in the town of Chengalpattu, 56 kilometres south-west of Chennai Beach. Chengalpattu Junction railway station is situated 3 km south of Paranur station.
