It lies on the left bank of the Northern Dvina, along the Kholmogory Highway, 75 kilometers southeast of Arkhangelsk and 90 kilometers north of the Antonievo-Siysky Monastery. Kholmogory is situated 8 km south of Ostrov Repnoye.
