Merate Astronomical Observatory is an old observatory in Merate, Italy. It has housed a 1-meter Zeiss telescope since 1926. This Zeiss di Merate is a reflecting telescope on an equatorial mount and is one of the largest telescopes funded by the Regno d'Italia before Italy became republic in 1946. Merate Astronomical Observatory is situated 250 metres northeast of Cascina Montalbano.

The Palazzo Prinetti is a palace located in the town of Merate, in the Province of Lecco, in the Region of Lombardy, Italy. The palace, also known as Castello di Merate was built initially by Archbishop Ariberto d'Intimiano as a moated castle, but destroyed in 1275 during the civil wars involving Visconti and Della Torre. Palazzo Prinetti is situated 1 km southwest of Cascina Montalbano.
