Pétra

Petra is a former village in Cyprus, now uninhabited and largely destroyed. It is located east of the town of Lefka and just north the Green Line. De facto, Petra is under the control of Northern Cyprus.

This page describes the northwest of Northern Cyprus, mostly administered as Güzelyurt District, plus Lefke District at its west tip. Few tourists come this way but it's easily reached from the resort of Kyrenia or the capital Nicosia, and gives you a glimpse of traditional Turkish Cypriot villages. Angolemi is situated 3½ km east of Pétra.
