It serves Lev HaMifratz Mall, one of Haifa's largest malls, and the surrounding Haifa Bay industrial zone in the northeast of the city. HaMifrats Central Station is situated 1 km east of Le Meridien.

The sixth century BCE geographer Scylax described the city as being located "between the bay and the promontory of Zeus", by the latter meaning the northwestern extremity of Mount Carmel. Tell Abu Hawam is situated 1¼ km northwest of Le Meridien.
