Srirangapatna, anglicised to Seringapatam during the British Raj, is a town in Mandya district of Karnataka, India. On an island in the Cauvery River, the town of Srirangapatna was once the fortress capital of the region controlled by Hyder Ali and his son Tipu Sultan.
