Built between 1870 and 1874, the buildings have served as the meeting place for both chambers of Parliament since 16 June 1874, and were formerly the site of the Colonial administration of Barbados. Parliament Buildings is situated 150 metres north of Chamberlain Bridge.

The Nidḥe Israel Synagogue is a Conservative Jewish congregation and synagogue, located on Synagogue Lane in Bridgetown, Barbados. It is the only synagogue in Barbados, and is bordered by the wider Magazine Lane, James, Coleridge and Pinfold streets, it is a part of the Synagogue Historic District. Nidhe Israel Synagogue is situated 380 metres north of Chamberlain Bridge.
