Nant-y-moch Reservoir

Nant-y-moch Reservoir is situated in the Cambrian Mountains in northern Ceredigion, Wales, near Pumlumon. The reservoir which flooded a part of the valley of the River Rheidol and its headwaters derives its name from a stream, the Nant-y-moch, which formerly flowed into the River Rheidol at this spot. Nant-y-moch Reservoir is situated 2 miles southeast of Banc yr Wyn.

Bont Goch is a village in Ceredigion, Wales, 2 miles northeast of Aberystwyth. With Talybont, it is in the community of Ceulanamaesmawr. The historic name was Elerch, which may be related to the name of the river Leri which flows through the area. Bont Goch is situated 4½ miles southwest of Banc yr Wyn.

Furnace is a hamlet in Ceredigion, Wales on the A487 trunk road from Machynlleth to Aberystwyth, near Eglwysfach. It is the location of the Dyfi Furnace, used from the 1750s to the 19th century to make pig iron with charcoal as fuel. Furnace is situated 4½ miles northwest of Banc yr Wyn.

Cwmsymlog

Cwmsymlog is a short valley, sheltering a hamlet of the same name, in Ceredigion, in the west of Wales. Once an important mining area, but the mining slowly declined and finally came to an end in 1901. Cwmsymlog is situated 5 miles southwest of Banc yr Wyn.
