Situated at the end of a narrow peninsula between Lochs Caroy and Bharcasaig, Harlosh is some 7 kilometres from the village of Dunvegan. Harlosh Island and Tarner Island lie just offshore, with Wiay some 3 kilometres distant to the south. Harlosh is situated 4½ miles northeast of Macleod’s Maidens.
