Inchmahome, an anglicisation of Innis Mo Cholmaig, is the largest of three islands in the Lake of Menteith, in Stirlingshire. Inchmahome is situated 2 miles northwest of Dykehead.

Flanders Moss is an area of raised bog lying in the Carse of Forth in west Stirlingshire, Scotland. The villages of Thornhill and Port of Menteith lie to the north with the villages of Kippen and Buchlyvie lying to the south. Flanders Moss National Nature Reserve is situated 2½ miles east of Dykehead.

Port of Menteith is a village and civil parish in the Stirling district of Scotland, the only significant settlement on the Lake of Menteith. It was established as a burgh of barony, then named simply Port, in 1457 by King James III of Scotland. Port of Menteith is situated 2½ miles northwest of Dykehead.
