It was developed during the 20th century as a collection of Rhododendrons, and is included in the Inventory of Gardens and Designed Landscapes in Scotland, the national listing of significant gardens. Làrach Mòr is situated 2 miles southeast of Back of Keppoch.

Morar is a small village on the west coast of The Rough Bounds of Scotland, three miles south of Mallaig. The name Morar is also applied to the northern part of the peninsula containing the village, though North Morar is more usual. Morar is situated 3½ miles northeast of Back of Keppoch.
