HMS Gannet is a forward operating base of the Royal Navy's Fleet Air Arm located at Glasgow Prestwick Airport, South Ayrshire in Scotland. The facility was previously also known as Royal Naval Air Station Prestwick before it was downsized in 2001. HMS Gannet is situated 1½ miles southwest of Hansel Village.

James Macrae was most likely born in the parish of Ochiltree and escaped great poverty to become a sea captain and later an administrator who served as the governor of Fort St George and in 1725 governor of the Madras Presidency, modern-day Chennai.
