Knockfarrel is a rural settlement, 1 mile east of Strathpeffer, in Dingwall in Ross-shire, Scottish Highlands and is in the Scottish council area of Highland.

Brahan Castle

Brahan Castle was situated 3.5 miles south-west of Dingwall, in Easter Ross, Highland Scotland. The castle belonged to the Earls of Seaforth, chiefs of the Clan Mackenzie, who dominated the area.

Castle Leod is the seat of the Clan Mackenzie. It is a category A listed building, and the grounds are listed in the Inventory of Gardens and Designed Landscapes of Scotland, the national listing of significant gardens. Castle Leod is situated 2 miles northwest of Eilean Beag.

Fodderty is a small hamlet, close to Dingwall, Ross-shire in the Scottish Highlands and is in the Scottish council area of Highland. The small hamlet of Bottacks is located 1 mile to the west, and just to the east is Brae or Brea, formed in 1777 from the lands of Davochcarn, Davochmaluag and Davochpollo. Fodderty is situated 1½ miles north of Eilean Beag.

Strathpeffer

Strathpeffer is a village in Easter Ross in the Scottish Highlands, with a population of 1040 in 2020. It has sulphurous springs and grew up in the 19th century as a spa resort, served by a branch railway line.
