Unst

Unst is the most northerly inhabited island of the Shetland Islands, north of mainland Scotland, with a population of 632 in 2011. Life here was traditionally based on herring fishing: the herring now are sparse but small-scale fishing continues, along with sheep farming.

Brough Holm is a small island off Unst, in the North Isles of Shetland. It is off Westing, which as the name implies is on the west coast of Unst. The word "brough" refers to the remains of the broch on it. Brough Holm is situated 2 miles west of Little Holm.

Uyeasound is a village on the Isle of Unst, the northernmost island of the Shetland Islands, Scotland. It takes its name from the neighbouring strait of the same name, which looks over to the Isle of Uyea. Uyeasound is situated 2½ miles south of Little Holm.

Clivocast

Clivocast is a settlement on the island of Unst in the Shetland Islands, Scotland at or grid reference HP6000 and is situated just east of Uyeasound. The 9 ft 10 in Uyea Breck Standing Stone nearby is said to mark the spot where the son of the Viking Harald Harfager was killed some time around 900AD. Clivocast is situated 2½ miles south of Little Holm.

Baltasound is the largest settlement on the island of Unst in Shetland, Scotland. It comes from the Old Norse man's name Balti. Unst is the most northerly inhabited island in the United Kingdom. Baltasound is situated 3 miles northeast of Little Holm.
