L'Aquila is the capital of the province of the same name in the region of Abruzzo in and is located in the northern part of the province. It is a small, pleasant city that is surrounded by high mountains.

is a city of 120,000 people in Abruzzo. It is the most populous city of the region, as well as being an active cultural centre, agricultural market and port fishing boat.
