Aeolian Islands
The Aeolian islands, aka Lipari Islands, are a group of attractive islands in the Tyrrhenian Sea about 25-50 km north of Sicily in Italy. This diverse group of volcanic islands used to be off the beaten track, but they are becoming more popular and can be very busy during July and August.Photo: NASA, Public domain.

Salina is one of the Aeolian Islands north of Sicily, Southern Italy. It is the second largest island in the archipelago. Salina is divided between three comuni: Santa Marina on the eastern coast, Malfa to the north, and Leni to the south-west.
