Chiang Rai is one of Thailand's seventy-six provinces that lies in upper northern Thailand and is Thailand's northernmost province. Chiang Rai

Chiang Rai is the northernmost major city in Thailand, with a population of about 70,000 people. It is located in Mueang Chiang Rai District, Chiang Rai Province.
Golden Triangle

The Golden Triangle is in Chiang Rai Province, in the far north of Thailand. The name was coined in the 1960s to refer to the opium-cultivating regions of Laos, Myanmar and Thailand but nowadays the northern Thai tourism industry uses it to refer to the tripoint where the three countries meet.
