Kiel is a maritime city and has been for a long time, it remains one of Germany main passenger ports. It is on the Baltic Sea at the end of the "Kieler Förde".
Flensburg

Flensburg is a city on the east coast of Schleswig-Holstein. The 90,000 inhabitants live around the Flensburger Förde. Its main claim to fame is that is sits on the border with Denmark, so there is lots of shopping. There are several museums, too.

Eckernförde is a city located in the Kreis of Rendsburg-Eckernförde, Schleswig-Holstein, northern Germany. Situated on the coast of the Baltic Sea, approximately 30 km north-west of Kiel, it has a population of about 23,000.

Plön is the district seat of the Plön district in Schleswig-Holstein, Germany, and has about 8,700 inhabitants. It lies right on the shores of Schleswig-Holstein's biggest lake, the Great Plön Lake, as well as on several smaller lakes, touching the town on virtually all sides.

Preetz is a town in the Schleswig-Holstein region of Germany, with a population of 16,000 inhabitants, the largest town in Plön district. Preetz is located between the Post and Lake Lankersee, which flow through the Schwentiene and the Muhlenau.
