Khamis Mosque

The Khamis Mosque is believed to be the first mosque in Bahrain, built during the era of the Umayyad caliph Umar II in Khamis. According to Al Wasat journalist Kassim Hussain, other sources mention that it was built in a later era during the rule of Uyunids with one minaret. Khamis Mosque is situated 1½ km southwest of Bangladesh School Bahrain.

Established in 1990, the complex is most famous for its Islamic museum, which has been acknowledged as being one of the most renowned Islamic museums in the world. The Al-Fateh Mosque, also known as the Al-Fateh Islamic Center and as the Al Fateh Grand Mosque, is a large mosque, located in Manama, Bahrain. Encompassing 6,500 square metres, with the capacity to accommodate over 7,000 worshippers at a time, it was one of the largest mosques in the world. Al Fateh Grand Mosque is situated 3½ km east of Bangladesh School Bahrain.
