Muckle Skerry is the largest of the Pentland Skerries, a group of uninhabited islets that lie off the north coast of Scotland in the Pentland Firth. It is home to the Pentland Skerries Lighthouse, in the north of the island.

John o'Groats is a village in the former county of Caithness on the far north coast of Scotland. With a population of about 300, it makes its living from tourism, as it's the traditional north terminus of the British mainland road network.

Duncansby Head is the most northeasterly part of both the Scottish and British mainlands, slightly northeast of John o' Groats. It lies approximately 20 km east-southeast of Dunnet Head, the northernmost point of both the Scottish and British mainlands.
