Coonoor railway station is an NSG–4 category Indian railway station in Salem railway division of Southern Railway zone. It serves Coonoor, a municipality town and popular hill station in the Nilgiris district of Tamil Nadu. Coonoor railway station is situated 2½ km southeast of Wellington Cantonment.

Aruvankadu, is a small town located in the Nilgiris of Tamil Nadu in India between Coonoor and Ooty, at distances 5 km and 12 km respectively. It houses the Cordite Factory, one of the 40 Indian Ordnance Factories, and one of the oldest, established in 1903.

Coonoor is a famous hill station that is 17 km from Ooty in Tamil Nadu, India. It is probably the second most popular hill station in the Nilgiris. The hill station stands at a height of 1,839 metres and is known for its great picnic spots and picturesque surroundings.
