East Cairn Hill is a hill in the Pentland Hills range of Scotland. With a height of 567 m, it is the highest hill in the City of Edinburgh council area and is located on the western flank of the approximately 20 mi long chain of hills.

Nine Mile Burn is a hamlet in Midlothian, Scotland, the last in Midlothian when heading south on the A702 road. It is located at the foot of the Pentland Hills, near Penicuik and about 2 km north-east of the village of Carlops. Nine Mile Burn is situated 2½ miles southeast of Bore Stane.
