The Egg

The Egg, or the Dome, is an unfinished cinema building in Beirut, Lebanon. Its construction began in 1965 but was interrupted with the outbreak of the Lebanese Civil War in 1975 and the horse-shoe shaped dome that remains today is now a landmark in Beirut. The Egg is situated 110 metres east of Markazia Monroe Hotel.

Saint George Maronite Cathedral is the cathedral of the Maronite Catholic Archeparchy of Beirut, located in downtown Beirut, Lebanon. Constructed between 1884 and 1894 under Archbishop Joseph Debs, the cathedral stands on the site of an earlier 18th-century church dedicated to Saint George. St George Maronite Cathedral is situated 190 metres north of Markazia Monroe Hotel.
