The Colosseum is an elliptical amphitheatre in the centre of the city of Rome, Italy, just east of the Roman Forum. It is the largest ancient amphitheatre ever built, and is the largest standing amphitheatre in the world. Coliseum is situated 1¼ km west of Museum of the Liberation of Rome.

It originally weighed 413 tonnes, but after collapsing and being re-erected 4 metres shorter, now weighs around 300 tonnes.
