The National Museum of Beirut is the principal museum of archaeology in Lebanon. The collection begun after World War I, and the museum was officially opened in 1942.

The Pine Residence, is the official residence of the French ambassador to Lebanon, situated in Beirut’s Horsh district. The residence is of notable historical significance, as it was from its porch that General Henri Gouraud proclaimed the establishment of the State of Greater Lebanon on 1 September 1920.
