Fortrose Cathedral

Fortrose Cathedral was the episcopal seat of the medieval Scottish diocese of Ross in the Highland region of Scotland near the city of Inverness. It is probable that the original site of the diocese was at Rosemarkie, but by the 13th century the canons had relocated a short distance to the south-west, to the site known as Fortrose or Chanonry. Fortrose Cathedral is situated 2½ miles southeast of Muiryden.

Groam House Museum is a museum of Celtic and Pictish Art. Located in the village of Rosemarkie in the Black Isle, Scotland, its collection contains both the Rosemarkie Stone, one of the major surviving examples of Pictish art in stone, and the Rosemarkie sculpture fragments, that are 14 stone fragments, the most well-known being Daniels Stone. Groam House Museum is situated 2½ miles southeast of Muiryden.

Fortrose is a town and former royal burgh on the Black Isle in the Highland council area of Scotland, about six miles northeast of Inverness. The town is known for its ruined 13th-century cathedral, and as the home of the Brahan Seer. Chanonry Point, a nearby headland projecting into the Moray Firth, is a popular location for dolphin spotting. Fortrose is situated 2½ miles southeast of Muiryden.
