The Cheviot

The Cheviot is an extinct volcano and the highest summit in the Cheviot Hills and in the county of Northumberland. Located in the extreme north of England, it is a 1+1⁄4-mile walk from the Scottish border and, with a height of 2,674 feet above sea-level, is located on the northernmost few miles of the Pennine Way, before the descent into Kirk Yetholm.

Mowhaugh is a hamlet and farm steading near the Calroust Burn and the Bowmont Water, near Morebattle, in the Scottish Borders area of Scotland, and in the former Roxburghshire. It is situated about 5 miles from the Anglo-Scottish Border. Mowhaugh is situated 4½ miles west of Hen Hole.

College Valley

The College Valley is an area within the Northumberland National Park in northern England. It is one of five cuttings into the Cheviot Hills. The valley is owned by College Valley Estates which in turn is funded by a trust created by Sir James Knott MP. College Valley is situated 4½ miles north of Hen Hole.

Barrowburn is a hamlet in Upper Coquetdale in the county of Northumberland, England. It comprises a working farm with associated buildings and two holiday lets. Barrow Burn is situated 6 miles south of Hen Hole.
