Talakādu is a town on the left bank of the Kaveri river 45 km from Mysore and 133 km from Bangalore in Karnataka, India. Latinizations of the towns name vary, but include Talkād, Talakadu, Talakkadu, or Thalakadu. Talakadu is situated 9 km southeast of Doddabagilu.

Somnathapura is a town in Karnataka close to Tirumakudalu Narasipura Taluk. The area was ruled by the Hoysala Dynasty. A minister of the Hoysala dynasty, by name Somanath, planned to establish a temple here, based on the Hoysala architecture.
