Tell es-Samak or Tel Shikmona, meaning 'mound of the fish', is an ancient Phoenician tell situated near the sea coast in the modern city of Haifa, Israel, just south of the Israeli National Institute of Oceanography. Tel Shikmona is situated 140 metres south of IOLR slipway.

Cave of Elijah is the name used for two grottoes on Mount Carmel, in Haifa, Israel, associated with Biblical prophet Elijah. According to tradition, Elijah is believed to have prayed at a grotto before challenging the priests of Baal on Mount Carmel, and to have hidden in either the same or in another nearby grotto from the wrath of Jezebel. Elijah’s Cave is situated 1¼ km east of IOLR slipway.
