Grantown-on-Spey is a town in the Spey Valley in the central Scottish Highlands, 20 miles southeast of Inverness. To the west is the "strath" or broad valley of the River Spey, which here narrows to descend east through the Cairngorms towards the coast in Moray.

Ardclach is a small crofting hamlet, close to Glenferness in the Highland council area of Scotland. It is historically part of Nairnshire. Dating to at least 1655, and now a Category A listed building, Ardclach Bell Tower is believed to be the only tower and belfry combination in Scotland. Ardclach is situated 6 miles north of Lochindorb Lodge.
