It is believed by Muslims to be the site of the pit into which Yusuf, a figure which is part of both the Biblical and Quranic narratives, was thrown by his brothers. Horbat Gov Yosef is situated 1¼ km northwest of Korazim Center.

Chorazin or Korazim was an ancient village in the Roman and Byzantine periods, best known from the Christian Gospels. It stood on the Korazim Plateau in the Upper Galilee on a hill above the northern shore of the Sea of Galilee, 2.5 mi from Capernaum in what is now the territory of modern Israel. Korazim is situated 1½ km east of Korazim Center.
