Tomatin is a small village on the River Findhorn in Strathdearn in the Scottish Highlands, about 16 miles southeast of the city of Inverness. The name derives from the Scottish Gaelic name Tom Aitinn. Tomatin is situated 3½ miles northwest of Slochd Summit.

Carrbridge is a village in the Spey Valley in the central Highlands of Scotland, 24 miles southeast of Inverness and six miles north of Aviemore. Its Gaelic name is Drochaid Chàrr but derives from Norse: "boggy area".
