The Ulster University Derry~Londonderry campus, better known as Magee College, is one of the four campuses of Ulster University. It is located in Derry, Northern Ireland, and was opened in 1865 as a Presbyterian Christian arts and theological college. Magee College is situated 1½ miles south of Galliagh.

St Eugene's Cathedral is the Roman Catholic cathedral located in Derry, Northern Ireland. It is the "Mother Church" for the Roman Catholic Diocese of Derry, as well as the parish Church of the parish of Templemore. St Eugene’s Cathedral is situated 2 miles south of Galliagh.

Foyle Bridge

The Foyle Bridge is a bridge in Derry, Northern Ireland. The central span of the bridge is the longest on the island of Ireland, at 234 metres, and the whole suspended bridge structure including the approach spans is 866 metres long. Foyle Bridge is situated 1½ miles southeast of Galliagh.

Bridgend or Bridge End is a village in County Donegal, Ireland, at the base of the Inishowen peninsula. It is located on the N13 road to Letterkenny, on the western outskirts of Derry and near the border between the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland. Bridgend is situated 2½ miles west of Galliagh.

Strathfoyle

Strathfoyle is a village in County Londonderry, Northern Ireland It is about 5 miles north east of Derry. It was newly built in different phases between the late 1950s and the early 1960s, with many new recent additions to the village, including Westlake, Butler's Wharf and Old Fort. Strathfoyle is situated 2½ miles east of Galliagh.
