Its rounded shape and prominent position make it a distinctive landmark, visible from along much of Loch Ness. Meall Fuar-mhonaidh is situated 2½ miles southwest of Balbeg.

They are located on the lower portion of the River Foyers, and consist of the upper falls, with a drop of 46 feet and the lower falls, which drop 98 feet.
