Sosnogorsk
Sosnogorsk is in the center Komi Republic of Northwestern Russia. It was founded in 1939 as a railway station and later became home to a gulag. Today it is a small city of about 26,000 on the left bank of the Izhma River. Until 1957, it was known as Izhma.Photo: Зиновьев Николай, CC BY-SA 4.0.
