Callanish Stones

The Calanais Stones are a prehistoric stone circle and stone alignment on the west coast of the Isle of Lewis in the Outer Hebrides of Scotland. The monument was built during the Neolithic period, around c. 2750 BC. Callanish Stones is situated 2,200 feet west of Callanish XIX.

The Callanish II stone circle is one of many megalithic structures around the better-known Calanais I on the west coast of the Isle of Lewis, in the Outer Hebrides, Scotland. Callanish II is situated 1,900 feet southeast of Callanish XIX.

Although the village name comes from a geographical feature rather than a steading it is generally believed to be an ancient settlement. Breaclete is situated 4½ miles northwest of Callanish XIX.
