Balmenach distillery is a Speyside single malt Scotch whisky distillery situated in the district of Cromdale, Scotland on the banks of the River Spey The distillery stands in beneath the nearby hill of Tom Lethendry where the Jacobites were defeated in the Battle of Cromdale in 1690. Balmenach distillery is situated 1¼ miles south of Tomanuird.

Grantown-on-Spey is a town in the Spey Valley in the central Scottish Highlands, 20 miles southeast of Inverness. To the west is the "strath" or broad valley of the River Spey, which here narrows to descend east through the Cairngorms towards the coast in Moray.
