Swords is a town 12 km north of Dublin, with a population in 2022 of 41,000. It's historically in County Dublin, which in 1994 was divided, with Swords becoming the county town of Fingal. Dublin Airport is within the town limits and much of Swords is industrial or commuterland for the city, but with an ancient castle and Round Tower.

Ballyboughal or Ballyboghil is a village and district in central Fingal in County Dublin, near the Naul. The name means "the town of the staff", and a major relic, the Bachal Isu, was protected in this area until Strongbow moved it to Christ Church Cathedral, Dublin. Ballyboughal is situated 5 km north of The Brambles.
