The waterfall is 166 feet high and runs off the edge of Coal Canyon, in front of a grotto. Phantom Falls is situated 2 miles northwest of Castleberry Covered Bridge.

The land was acquired by the state in October, 1993. North Table Mountain Ecological Reserve is situated 2½ miles west of Castleberry Covered Bridge.
