Loch Duntelchaig is a freshwater loch in the traditional county of Inverness-shire in the Scottish Highlands. It extends 5 kilometres from the southwest to its outflow in the northeast and measures up to 1.75 kilometres at its widest. Loch Duntelchaig is situated 2½ miles northeast of Crannog.

Dores is a village located on the east shore of Loch Ness, 10 km south west of the city of Inverness, in the Highland council area of Scotland. The now defunct RockNess music festival used to take place in fields to the north of the village. Dores is situated 4½ miles north of Crannog.

Hamlet
Strone is a small hamlet in the administrative county of the Scottish Highlands and in the historic county of Inverness-shire. It lies on the foot of the hill, Creag na h-Iolaire, in Glen Urquhart within the Great Glen, and the closest settlement to Urquhart Castle, which lies down the hill to the East. Strone is situated 5 miles west of Crannog.
