Mweelrea is a mountain on the Atlantic coast of County Mayo, Ireland. Rising to 814 metres, it is the highest mountain in the western province of Connacht, and is noted for its southeastern cliff-lined corries, and its views. Mweelrea is situated 4 km northeast of Glassilaun Beach.

It is situated at the mouth of Killary Harbour to its south, with Silver Strand to its north, Mweelrea mountain to its east and the Atlantic ocean to its west. Uggool Beach is situated 2½ km north of Glassilaun Beach.

Its English name was coined by the Marquis of Sligo, who built a hunting lodge there It is located on the Owengar River that connects Fin Lough to Doo Lough, between the fjord of Killary Harbour to the south and the Sheeffry Hills to the north, in a valley surrounded by the Mweelrea Mountains and the neighbouring peaks of Ben Creggan and Ben Gorm. Delphi is situated 9 km east of Glassilaun Beach.
